Course Objectives Capnography for EMTs and Paramedics: Essential Skills for Prehospital Care Understand the Fundamentals of Capnography – Define capnography, explain its principles, and describe its role in respiratory monitoring. Recognize Different Capnography Devices and Applications – Identify various types of capnographs, their functions, and appropriate clinical uses. Interpret Capnography Waveforms – Analyze capnography readings to detect signs of respiratory distress, airway obstruction, and cardiac arrest. Utilize Capnography for Airway Management – Apply capnography to guide endotracheal intubation, confirm tube placement, and assess ventilation effectiveness. Monitor Patient Response and Detect Complications – Use capnography to evaluate treatment effectiveness, identify complications, and adjust interventions accordingly.
