Objectives Learn key infection control strategies and public health principles, and how they apply to the workplace environment. Understand the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards related to bloodborne and airborne pathogens in the workplace. Gain in-depth knowledge of bloodborne pathogens (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis B) and airborne pathogens (e.g., Tuberculosis, COVID-19, Ebola), including their transmission and risks. Study effective prevention measures for bloodborne and airborne pathogens, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), vaccination, and hygiene protocols. Learn the importance of exposure control plans and the appropriate post-exposure management steps for handling potential pathogen exposure.
