Objectives Understand the Unique Challenges of Pediatric Pain Recognize the physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in pediatric patients that influence pain perception and management. Learn to use age-appropriate tools and techniques to evaluate pain levels accurately across different pediatric age groups. Implement both pharmacological approaches (e.g., analgesics, sedation) and non-pharmacological methods (e.g., distraction, relaxation) in managing pediatric pain. Foster effective communication with children and their families to ensure understanding, trust, and participation in the pain management process. Adhere to guidelines and ethical considerations to prevent over-treatment or under-treatment of pain while ensuring patient safety.
