Description

Objectives Define stroke and understand its impact on brain function and overall health. Recognize common causes, such as blood clots or hemorrhages, and risk factors like hypertension, smoking, diabetes, and atrial fibrillation. Distinguish between ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, and transient ischemic attacks (TIAs). Learn to recognize key symptoms, including sudden weakness, facial drooping, difficulty speaking, and vision changes. Familiarize yourself with the NIHSS for assessing stroke severity and guiding treatment decisions. Explore Treatment Options Based on Stroke Type: Understand acute treatment options, such as thrombolytics for ischemic strokes, surgical interventions for hemorrhagic strokes, and secondary prevention strategies.
