Description

Objective Understand the anatomy of the upper and lower airway, and learn how to assess airway patency and identify potential obstructions. Recognize clinical scenarios that necessitate airway management, such as airway obstruction, respiratory failure, or decreased level of consciousness. Familiarize yourself with the pharmacologic agents (e.g., sedatives, paralytics) and tools (e.g., endotracheal tubes, laryngoscopes) used in airway management. Learn the steps and differences between conventional intubation and rapid sequence intubation, including indications, medications, and procedural techniques for both. Lecturer: Heberto Scramm, MD (Anesthesiologist) Course Completion Requirements: Credits Offered: This course is approved for 1.5 CE/CME credit. Posttest: Participants must complete a posttest to assess their understanding of the material. Course Evaluation: A course evaluation is required to provide feedback on the lecture.
